As a teenager I found expressing myself through drawing and painting, and my leaning towards teaching as a vocation, inevitably led me to a Diploma in Art and Design and teacher training. I subsequently enjoyed several years as a successful secondary school teacher. During this period I also found time to exhibit my work and produce commissioned pieces.
During the 1980-90s, I concentrated on being a mother. Art took a backseat during this time but I found an affinity with gardening and the changing seasons which influence my work.
I came back to art full time in 1999 for Somerset ArtWeek 2000 & 2002.
In 2001 I entered works into the Millfield Summer Show and my painting “Fire Dogs” (below) was highly commended. Several paintings were also exhibited there in 2002 and 2003.
